RWR has been providing legal advice to health care providers for more than 50 years. During this period, we have provided representation to hospitals, nursing homes, and other institutional providers of health care services to some of which we have served as general counsel. Counted among our clients are community based hospitals and academic medical centers. In addition, we have assisted non-institutional providers including individual physicians, physician groups, dentists, and other healing arts practitioners.

The firm’s work on behalf of its institutional health care clients has included advice and counsel on a variety of legal matters including business organization formation issues, drafting of medical staff bylaws, advice on compliance with various state and regulatory matters including the Health Care Quality Improvement Act, the Stark Act, and fraud and abuse laws, preparation of and negotiation of hospital based and non-hospital based provider contacts, major medical equipment purchases, computer hardware and software contracts, affiliation, joint venture and merger agreements, and securing exemption of properties from real estate taxation.

Our efforts on behalf of our physician, dentist and other non-institutional provider clients has included advice and counsel on number of legal issues including medical staff disciplinary actions, licensure revocation matters, business entity formation, preparation and negotiation of employment contracts, review of managed care contracts, practice management issues, practice sales, and practice dissolution matters.
